Well, it's been a long while, hasn't it... Well I am finally here, updating with something new!
"Judith" is my first personal piece in around 2 years of doing only commercial work. Working on this piece took me a lot of time: many hours were spent on thinking and composing it in my head, 40 hours of pure painting and a dozen hours for preparing the accompanying files.Painted in Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos 4 medium. I used photo and live references for loose inspiration and stylization. No copying whatsoever. You can view them here: [link]
For those, who actually read the descriptions... See the "Making of" of this piece at my blog: [link]
PS. I doubt anyone would find it offensive due to stylization, but I am tagging the mature warning on due to nudity, just for case.
I have found this fascinating...........I didn't realise you could get this degree of realism with digital tools. I have been a traditional artist all my life and have achieved a high degree of realism in my work using conventional techniques. I am very very impressed with what you have done.
This is--of course--spectacular, but I came to look more closely because of your title. In art, we always see Judith during or after her beheading of Holofernes; I've always wondered why no-one painted her as a temptress. She seduced an opposing general, exhausted him into a deep sleep, and then killed him--that takes a talent and allure far beyond the murderous.
I like that her expression is seductive and yet ambiguous; this is clearly an intelligent woman. (Perhaps I'm reading a hint of danger into her expression because of her name, as well.) Fascinating, and gorgeously rendered.

here we see .. nothing but a paintover pretending to be a painting ..the video omits the photo layer when recording..
honesty is the best policy..deviant art has a lot of this deception.. painter/photographer..
