I do have a story behind this painting, but instead of words, I leave you with this picture alone. I wonder what your interpretations would be

Original size: 6000x9000px; done from scratch in Photoshop with some aid from Painter. This piece was a challenge, mainly to get the technique and mood work together. It took me a LOT of time, especially to get all those little details right.

im guessing, the person she loved had to travel often, and they wrote to eachother back and forth, and the last letter she got back must've had bad news. they were going to get married, maybe the letter in her hand was the last one she ever got from him or her. she stayed in her wedding dress for him or her, to show them that she still cared and still awaits their return. the bird is gone, because either a) it died a long time ago, or b) it flew off, and never came back.

For me I thought of someone who had finally let the one they love be free and let them go so that the person could be happier, but in reality that person still hasn't really let go and is waiting still, with old memories and longing for that one person to come back. It's a beautiful picture

trouble with anatomy..head not attached to body cobbled together ..

when you paintover a photo the lack of the knowledge of anatomy shows..

the carpet on the floor a photo.badly merged in a layer..

the hair is a givaway as dear marta's own style shows through..

again about three different styles reflecting the quality of the photorefs...

the whole figure unconvincing..the shoulders fading and blurred..could be better with a good reference of head and shoulders...
